Found log: | 02-21-2015 (GLGQ2DCJ) Some time ago I received an email from Repelsteeltje1975, if I was interested in celebrating his 5000th cache. He had some wild plan and included the GC-code: GC38TF7. At first I hesitated, that's 380km away, almost 4 hours driving! Then I looked at the cache description and the pictures. Ok, I was convinced, I had to go! At 7 o'clock this morning I was standing in front of the door of RoCaMiRo, ready to go! After a long drive and some caches along the way we saw the big mine shaft in the distance. After a quick but delicious lunch we were ready for the adventure. We received our tokens, helmets and jackets and went down in a very quick way! At 500m below the surface we boarded three trucks and where driven through the mine. We saw some equipment and lots of tunnels, until we arrived at the lowest point, 800m below the surface. Here we entered the Kristallgrotte, with beautiful big salt crystals. They really taste like regular kitchen salt, yes I did actually try them . From there, after a drink at the bar, we went to the museum and the gold room and listened to the impressive stories. After about three hours we went back up, back to daylight. Thanks for this very nice and beautiful earthcache. It was quite an experience! Repelsteeltje1975, thanks for the invitation and for selecting such a nice cache! Congratulations with the 5000th! TFTC |
